As nearly 100 cancer survivors concluded their silent walk of reflection around the Verrado High School track, nearly 500 luminarias softly glowing in the bleachers in memory of those who have been touched by cancer changed from the word “HOPE” to the word “CURE,” boldly defining the Relay For Life goal of turning hope into a cure for cancer.

In support of this important mission to eliminate cancer, a crowd of about 1,500 people attended the 3rd Annual Relay For Life of Buckeye on October 16. On Saturday, April 5, 2008, approximately 120 volunteers of DMB Associates teamed with Rebuilding Together to make renovations to facilities owned by A&A Cottages in Mesa. This year’s project marks the 16th consecutive year of the company’s collaboration with Rebuilding Together. A&A Cottages provides foster care, group homes and support services to at-risk teenage girls and young adults who have been subject to abuse and/or neglect. It is the intent of A&A Cottages to empower these young women and help them break the cycle of poverty and violence in their lives.

DMB’s goal was to provide a more livable environment for young women who are trying to change the course of their lives. The crew of volunteers made various sustainability, cosmetic and quality of life updates to three separate A&A Cottage facilities. “Having been personally involved in DMB’s Rebuilding Together efforts, it is exciting to make sustainability the focus of this year’s project. It seemed a natural fit with Rebuilding Together’s own initiative to bring sustainable solutions for A & A Cottages,” said Dave Hutchinson, Director of Sustainability for DMB’s Mesa Proving Grounds project.   Read More»

Sunday, March 9 marked the third year DC Ranch has embraced Ryan House as the beneficiary of the 2008 Run for Life at DC Ranch, 5K, 10K and 1-mile family fun run.

DC Ranch has a long history of supporting Ryan House, the Southwest's first freestanding facility that will provide palliative care for children with life-limiting conditions, and respite and support services for their families, in a home-like setting. In 2006, the DC Ranch philanthropic community group, Heartstrings, chose Ryan House as a beneficiary of the annual Heartstrings Ball and generously donated $25,000. Shortly after, the DC Ranch Parks & Recreation team made Ryan House the beneficiary of their public event, Run for Life at DC Ranch. “We were astounded,” said Nancy Martin, executive director of Ryan House. “Our partnership with DC Ranch has resulted in wonderful thingsÉMost people have not interfaced with a concept such as Ryan House, but once it is explained to them, they really get it.’”

Since 2006, Ryan House has been campaigning for necessary funds to furnish, equip and operate the home. “We are currently cultivating our first major donor, which will put us at the halfway mark for our overall capital goal of $6.5 million,” said Martin excitedly. “We plan to break ground in spring 2008, and hope to open by summer 2009.”   Read More»

On Saturday, April 4, 2009, approximately 50 volunteers of Scottsdale-based DMB Associates, Inc. teamed with Rebuilding Together to beautify the Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center’s (SARRC) Vocational & Life Skills Academy campus. The DMB volunteers, together with SARRC clients, staff members and Boys Team Charity members, helped to create an environment for clients to train and develop life and vocational skills.   Read More»
